Solar & Hybrid Sludge Drying Plants

Solar & Hybrid Sludge Drying Plants
Good stabilized dewatered sludge with a minimum dryness of 20% can be dried in a greenhouse with the contribution only of solar thermal energy, eliminating the most difficult water to remove which is contained inside the solid itself, obtaining a product with a dryness of up to 90% or even higher.

The origin of the sludge can be both industrial and municipal. In fact, in some existing facilities of our representative, sludge from municipal sewage treatment plants is mixed with those of the industry or facility where the plant is located, being processed together.

The system can also be hybrid. Then solar energy plus any residual energy available in the industrial facility, where the greenhouse is located, are used for heating the water of a floor heating system, which allows to increase the water evaporation performance, being able to reach up to 12 t H2O evaporated / m2 * year.

RESULTS

Solar & Hybrid Sludge Drying Plants
The final dry product, depending on its NPK content and a dryness greater than 85%, can be used as organic fertilizer.
With a dryness of more than 90%, the final product has a lower heating value (LHV) around 3000 kcal / kg, which makes it a renewable energy source as a substitute for fossil fuels and can be used in cement plants or others.
3 tonnes of this product is equivalent to 1 tonne of coal.
With this new renewable energy we are closing the loop again.
